This Privacy Policy describes how DocVani (docvani.in) collects, uses, and protects information when you visit this website. We keep things simple — this is a small educational platform, not a data business.

Who We Are

DocVani is a free medical education website run by Dr. Prateek Porwal, ENT Surgeon at Prime ENT Center, Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. Contact: editor@docvani.in.

What We Collect

DocVani does not require you to create an account or log in. Most visitors remain completely anonymous.

Information collected automatically (via WordPress and analytics):

  • IP address (anonymized)
  • Browser type and version
  • Pages visited and time spent
  • Referring URL (how you found this site)
  • Device type (mobile, desktop, tablet)

This data is collected in aggregate. We cannot identify individual visitors from it.

Information you provide voluntarily:

  • Email address — only if you contact us at editor@docvani.in
  • Comment content — if you leave a comment on a post (comments may be disabled)

Cookies

DocVani uses minimal cookies:

  • WordPress session cookies — for logged-in admin users only. Regular visitors don’t get these.
  • Analytics cookies — if Google Analytics or similar is active, these track page visits anonymously.
  • Cache cookies — LiteSpeed Cache uses cookies to serve cached pages faster.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. This will not affect your ability to read DocVani content.

Third-Party Services

DocVani loads resources from third-party services:

  • Google Fonts — fonts loaded from Google’s servers. Google may log font requests.
  • External links — links to PubMed, VEDA, NIH, and other sites. We don’t control their privacy practices.

We do not use Facebook Pixel, advertising trackers, or affiliate links.

Medical Information You Share

If you email us describing symptoms or asking about your condition — that information is read only by Dr. Prateek Porwal or our editorial team. We do not store it in any database, and we do not share it with anyone.

We strongly advise against sharing detailed personal medical information over email. For consultations, please use the dedicated consultation channel at Prime ENT Center.

Data Retention

Emails are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. Comment data is kept for as long as the comment is published. Analytics data is retained for 14 months (Google Analytics default) and then automatically deleted.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Ask what data we hold about you
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Object to any processing

To exercise these rights, email editor@docvani.in. We’ll respond within 7 working days.

Children

DocVani does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

If we make changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted in a brief summary at the top.
