About DocVani

Medical knowledge in the language you actually think in.

DocVani is a doctor-authored medical education platform. Every article here is written — or reviewed word for word — by a practicing ENT surgeon. Not an algorithm. Not a freelance writer.

India has over 1.4 billion people and 22 official languages. But if you look at medical information online, almost everything is in English. And the Hindi content that exists? Most of it is machine-translated or written by people who’ve never treated a patient.

I see the consequences of this in my OPD every week. Patients come in with a printout from some health website, half the information wrong, and they’ve been treating themselves for months based on it. Or worse — they ignored a serious symptom because Google told them not to worry.

DocVani started as my attempt to fix a small part of that problem. I can’t build a hospital in every district. But I can write clearly about conditions I treat daily — in Hindi, in the vocabulary my patients actually use.

What you’ll find here

💫

Vertigo & BPPV

The most common thing I treat. BPPV, Meniere’s, vestibular neuritis — explained properly, including how the Bangalore Maneuver works.

👂

Ear Conditions

Ear infections, hearing loss, tinnitus, eardrum issues. What each one means, when it needs surgery, and what to expect.

👃

Sinus & Nose

Chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, septoplasty — why antibiotics alone don’t work, and when FESS is actually the right call.

Who writes here

Dr. Prateek Porwal — MS, DNB (ENT), CAMVD. ENT surgeon at Prime ENT Center, Hardoi. 13+ years in practice. Inventor of the Bangalore Maneuver for Anterior Canal BPPV, published in Frontiers in Neurology (2021). Every vertigo and ear-related article on DocVani is written or reviewed by him.

Dr. Harshita Singh — MS, DNB (ENT), Fellowship in Rhinology from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. Sinus and nasal specialist at Prime ENT Center. All sinus, rhinology, and nasal content goes through her.

Articles sometimes take input from AI for drafting — but every word that goes live has been read and verified by one of the two doctors above. If something is wrong, there’s a real person responsible for it. That’s not something most health websites can say.

This site is not for emergencies

DocVani is for education. If you’re dizzy right now, or there’s sudden hearing loss, or you can’t breathe — please call a doctor. Don’t read an article. Our medical disclaimer covers this in detail.

For actual consultations with Dr. Prateek Porwal, visit Prime ENT Center, Hardoi or call 7393062200.
